The Chinese Juniper

Spring always has delightful tricks up its sleeves. Or maybe our ability to garner all that it brings every year is limited owing to the sheer brilliance of every one of its offerings!

This Chinese Juniper (सुरु) has been around for years. But never have I noticed it flower this way before. From afar it looked like it was covered in confetti balls, or tiny cyan fairy lights. From up close it was a congregation of cheerful buds, thoroughly enjoying their yearly outing. *****

'Through primrose tufts, in that green bower, The periwinkle trailed its wreaths; And ’tis my faith that every flower Enjoys the air it breathes.'

- William Wordsworth, 'Lines Written in Early Spring'
